MYP and DP Math Teacher

This position will commence late August 2025.

The successful candidate will work with students to help them reach their full potential in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme.

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing students an educational experience designed to inspire and challenge students to discover the best of who they are and to achieve their full potential
  • Ensuring a welcoming classroom environment in a manner that reflects the Lauremont School commitment to supporting students and their families, and the motto “I am Known”
  • Participating actively in faculty and department meetings to plan, review and update the written curriculum
  • Contribute to the life of the school by participating in co-curricular activities such as clubs, sports teams, field trips, overnight trips, social activities and sporting events.
  • Ensuring the written, taught and assessed curriculum is in line with IB and Ministry of Education curriculum ensuring differentiation
  • Establishing good relationships with teachers, staff and parents across the school community
  • Keep up to date with developments in their subject area, new resources and methods

 

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Ontario College of Teachers Certification with intermediate/senior school qualifications
  • University degree with specialization in Math
  • Over 3 years teaching experience teaching Math and/or Physics
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)/Diploma Programme (DP) experience is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to instruct in a laptop environment
  • Independent School experience is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current First Aid CPR, and AED
