Director of Innovation

Overview
Reporting to the Deputy Head of School, the Director of Innovation will help create, implement and align strategic pedagogical work/projects under the School’s Innovation pillar. This work will support the school’s Mission and Vision and ensure our students are equipped with future ready skills as compassionate, curious and connected students in an ever changing world. A significant focus to this role is a regular review of programs and spaces as Lauremont evolves its innovation initiatives. This is a full time, permanent, non-faculty position, commencing July 2, 2026.
The Director of Innovation will lead strategic initiatives for academic excellence, focusing on future-ready learning, curriculum development, and enhanced student outcomes by integrating research-based practices and technology. These aims will be achieved through collaboration across the school community, helping to drive a culture of continuous improvement that will spawn new programs, digital ecosystems and strategic partnerships.
The Director of Innovation will ensure the school is positioned at the cutting edge of developments in the field of educational innovation, in the service of enhancing student experiences. They will challenge the effectiveness of existing processes, systems and ways of working to develop and change practices with the outcome of ensuring that the Lauremont faculty is equipped with the skills and growth mindset to be thought leaders in their areas of responsibility. The Director will take on whole school leadership responsibilities to support the school in its drive to continually improve educational practices.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Vision and Strategy: Develop and implement the school’s vision for educational innovation, aligning with Lauremont School’s strategic goals for 21st-century learning.
- Culture and Pedagogy: Design, implement, and oversee innovative programs, curricula, and professional development to foster creativity and future-readiness.
- Data and Assessment: Establish frameworks for assessing student progress, using data to inform decisions and improve teaching practices.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with the Deputy Head of School, faculty, and administration to embed innovation across all operations, acting as a visible leader.
Area of Focus:
- Student Experience: Creating new value and enriching learning experiences for students.
- Faculty Development: Supporting teachers through ongoing training and mentorship in new methods.
- School Culture: Building an academic environment focused on continuous improvement and student achievement.

Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum Studies, Innovation, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and senior-level experience in educational innovation.
- Demonstrated experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, program design, and/or whole-school improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of contemporary educational research, future-ready learning frameworks, and innovative pedagogical practices, including the effective use of educational technologies.
- Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives from concept to implementation, with experience evaluating programs, learning environments, and systems for impact and alignment.
- Experience supporting and mentoring educators through professional learning, change management, and continuous improvement practices.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, inspire engagement, and achieve buy-in across diverse stakeholder groups (faculty, staff, students, parents, and leadership).
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning in innovation, leadership, and best practices relevant to CAIS and independent school contexts.
- Alignment with Lauremont School’s Mission, Vision, and commitment to inclusive, student-centred education.
- A current Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED
Salary Range: $110,000 – $124,000/annually
