Lego Classic Engineer
Lego Classic Engineering involves building structures, cars and different functional objects. The lessons in the class teach children how to plan for other physical challenges, design elements and work in collaboration.
Lego Robotics: Power and Parts
To find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy! Capture energy from the sun to power a race car. Harness the wind to light up the classroom.
Lego Classic Engineer
Lego Classic Engineering involves building structures, cars and different functional objects. The lessons in the class teach children how to plan for other physical challenges, design elements and work in collaboration. Students use Lego Education BricQ motion and Lego Classic Motion kits to build ideas that test early aspects of physics and mechanics.
Children build projects solo and in pairs and have to present the object in public speaking practice at the end of each class. The students practice early public speaking skills, explaining their skills in the form of ideas, concept, and design.
This is the perfect CO-ED program that develops critically-thinking leaders who understand engineering and science concepts while keeping children actively engaged and excited the entire time.

My Early Cents 2
**Prerequisite – My Early Cents 1**
We build on the lessons from Level 1 by helping the students understand dollars vs. cents and learning the value of money through fun games and activities that center around the basic need for food. Like the idea of a lemonade stand, your child will participate in Walter’s FUNtastic Grocery Store where they will experience selling groceries to earn money, and work on simple money math.
KMCents’ unique Walter’s FUNtastic Bank remains open for students to practice basic bank transactions and to manage their own piggy bank accounts. Since children as young as 3 years old already understand the purchasing power of money (i.e., how to spend it), we teach your young child the flip side of the money equation (i.e., how to earn it), so your child can build knowledge about money that is balanced!
In addition to your child receiving a KMCents Certificate upon completion of this level, special memos are sent to you, the Chief Financial Parent, with tips on how to enhance the money lessons at home.

J Stixx
Welcome to J Stixx, where young musicians embark on an exciting journey into the world of percussion! Our program offers an engaging and educational experience designed specifically for children.
At J Stixx, we believe in hands-on learning and interactive exploration. Our classes feature authentic percussion instruments crafted for little hands, allowing children to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of rhythm and melody. From vibrant drums to colorful shakers and more, each instrument sparks creativity and encourages active participation.
Through dynamic activities and games, children learn fundamental rhythmic concepts while developing motor skills and coordination. Our experienced instructors foster a supportive environment where young learners feel empowered to express themselves through music and movement.
As children engage with different rhythms and beats, they not only cultivate a love for music but also enhance cognitive abilities and social skills. J Stixx isn’t just about playing instruments; it’s about learning, growing, and building confidence in a fun and inclusive setting.

Martial Arts
The Karate “Kids that KICK” School Program focuses on developing children’s:
1) Concentration: While our classes are fun and high energy, we also teach techniques that help children improve their focus and attention skills.
2) Confidence: Confidence is the key factor to walking away from a confrontation, exploring something new, or speaking in front of a large audience. Each child will walk away being proud of themselves when completing our program.
3) Respect: Respect does not come from fear or awe; it stems from empathy, consideration, value, and thoughtfulness. We teach and demonstrate the importance of respecting themselves and others.
This improved behavior can improve all aspects of a child’s life including achieving better grades, improved relationships with their teachers, family and friends.

Piano Lessons
Mastering even the simplest piece of music requires focus and patience. In a world where the touch of a button or finger swipe brings an immediate response, piano lessons help your child to develop a healthy work ethic and an understanding of the idea of delayed gratification. Learning to play the piano promotes cognitive skills such as memory development, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.
The Lauremont School piano program aims to encourage an ‘I can do it’ feeling and build self-esteem. Monthly performance classes provide a platform where students can share their talents and enjoy a social connection with other musicians, and develop presentation skills.
The curriculum is drawn from a variety of source materials from classical to jazz/popular, depending upon where the student gravitates to. Students wanting to follow the path towards mastering classical music must have an acoustic piano in the home.

I have an account with Discovery Day Camp. Can I use that account to log-in and register for Extended Care and Extracurricular programs?
While we are using the same software Discovery Day Camp and the Extended Care and Extracurricular programs are separate so creating a new account will be required.
How do I register for a program?
Your classroom number is needed to set-up and complete registration. If you have not received your class placement letter or have misplaced it, you may call the school for assistance.
Program registration is on a first come, first served basis. There are a limited number of students in each program. We require the minimum number of participants for a program to run. If this number is not reached, the program will be cancelled and a full refund will be given.

I have started my registration but it will not allow me to proceed to pay. What’s happening?
This means there could be a form or a selection that has not been completed that is mandatory. Please go back and check Step 3 in the registration process and make sure the word ‘COMPLETED’ appears by each form (illustrated in the picture below):
I have tried to pay with my credit card but the website won’t accept it. What’s happening?
There are a couple of reasons this could be happening so please check the following:
-
- Check the type of card you are using. Our merchant only accepts Visa or Master Card.
- Double check that you have entered your card number and expiry dates correctly.
- Ensure that the credit card has not been issued from outside of North America

How will my child get from their class to extended care or the extracurricular activity they are registered for?
Your child’s homeroom teacher will ensure they are taken to the correct activity at 4:00 PM. At 5:00 PM, extra-curricular staff take any students signed up for the extended care program until 6:00 PM to their designated room.
Do you offer refunds on extra-curricular program registrations?
Once a program has started, Lauremont School cannot refund or pro-rate any payment for missed classes due to school co-curricular activities/events/trips and school closures or program cancellations due to inclement weather.
No refund requests will be accepted after the registration deadline date.
What is the pick-up procedure for extracurricular activities?
Parents should park and enter the school through the main doors at the Atrium. Please have your parent badge clearly visible for the front desk receptionist. Proceed to your child’s assigned extracurricular room for pick up. Programs end at 5:00 PM and students should be picked up promptly at that time.
Disclaimer about closures
Lauremont School has the right to cancel or reschedule a program due to any school activities requiring the use of any facility. There will not be any make-up class(es) for school closures and program cancellations due to inclement weather.
