Duke of Edinburgh Award Program
The Duke of Edinburgh Award program is an internationally recognized program designed for students aged 14 and up. It offers hands-on opportunities to engage in community service, develop personal skills, participate in physical activities, and embark on outdoor experiences. This program aligns seamlessly with the IB Programme and Lauremont School’s mission to cultivate well-rounded students, providing valuable experiences across various areas of life.
Voluntary Service
Engaging in community service projects to develop compassion, leadership and social responsibility.
Skills
Developing new skills or enhancing current skills through dedicated practice and learning.
Physical Recreation
Improving fitness and health through regular physical activities and sports.
Adventurous Journey
Undertake a planned expedition or exploration journey to foster teamwork and resilience.
Residential Project

Participate in a shared activity or project with new people in an unfamiliar setting over 5 days and 4 nights.
Award Levels
The Duke of Edinburgh Award program is structured into three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level requires students to set and achieve goals across the four different areas listed above. As students progress, the commitments and challenges will increase. This structure encourages personal and skill development, promoting resilience and leadership.
Bronze (Age 14 Years & Older)
Silver (Age 15 Years & Older)
Gold (Age 16 Years & Older)
Bronze (Age 14 Years & Older)
For voluntary service, physical recreation and skill development, participants are required to dedicate an average of one hour a week to each activity over the required time period.
Voluntary Service: 13 weeks
Physical Recreation: 13 weeks
Skill Development: 13 weeks
Adventurous Journey: 2 days and 1 Night
Additionally, participants must undertake an extra 13 weeks in either Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation, or Skill Development.
Silver (Age 15 Years & Older)
For voluntary service, physical recreation and skill development, participants are required to dedicate an average of one hour a week to each activity over the required time period.
Voluntary Service: 26 weeks
Physical Recreation: 26 weeks
Skill Development: 26 weeks
Adventurous Journey: 3 days and 2 Night
For those who have not completed the Bronze level, an extra 26 weeks in either Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation, or Skill Development is required.
Gold (Age 16 Years & Older)
For voluntary service, physical recreation and skill development, participants are required to dedicate an average of one hour a week to each activity over the required time period.
Voluntary Service: 52 weeks
Physical Recreation: 52 weeks
Skill Development: 52 weeks
Adventurous Journey: 4 days and 3 Night
In addition to the four activities above, participants going for the Gold award must spend 5 days and 4 nights away from home, working on a shared activity or project with new people in an unfamiliar setting. Examples include training courses, student exchanges and cultural or service projects.
For those who have not completed the Silver level, an extra 26 weeks in either Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation, or Skill Development is required.
