Grades 1-6 | Help Me To Think For Myself

Inspiring Academic Excellence

The Elementary program at Lauremont School offers a unique and enriching educational experience, fostering a love of learning and strong sense of independence. In our classrooms, students are guided by experienced teachers who create a nurturing environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students are encouraged to explore their interests using hands-on Montessori materials and learning alongside their peers.

The enriched curriculum allows students to make connections across various subjects such as language, math and science. This approach guides students in developing a better understanding of the concepts and their real-world applications.

Our mixed-age classrooms from Grades 1 through 5 encourage collaborative learning, mentorship and a strong sense of community. Our personalized learning environments help to develop confidence, leadership and resilience, preparing students for future academic success and lifelong learning.

Cultivating Lifelong Learners

The Elementary experience at Lauremont School is centered around our Montessori classrooms where our teachers guide the students’ learning on an individual basis. This is complemented by small group lessons and collaborative experiences. Beyond the core subjects of English, math and the sciences, students engage in a comprehensive Culture curriculum including botany, geography, history and zoology.

Our Elementary program also emphasizes the development of social and emotional skills, equipping students to make a positive impact in their community, as well as the world around them.

Lower Elementary

In the Lower Elementary program, the curriculum focuses on the development of the whole child, including intellectual, emotional and social growth. The program also builds upon the children’s natural enthusiasm for learning. Students develop confidence, independence and critical thinking skills.

Upper Elementary

Building on the knowledge acquired in our Lower Elementary classroom, the Upper Elementary program focuses on applying the students’ skills to a real world context. Students develop attitudes and strategies to foster their enthusiasm for learning. This strengthens their confidence and sets them up for success in the Upper School IB program.

The Montessori Elementary classroom is a social and collaborative hub that fosters connections not only between our students but also between our teachers and parents. These connections are vital to the success of our students.
